Music, Festive Spirit, and Children’s Joy at P.S. 220 Winter Concert

The much-anticipated “P.S. 220 Winter Concert 2025” was held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 6:00 PM at P.S. 220 School in Queens, New York. The colorful cultural program, set against a festive winter backdrop, featured performances by students from Grades 3, 4, and 5.
The program began with a warm welcome from Principal Josette Pizarro, who greeted all students, parents, guardians, guests, and teachers in attendance. In her remarks, she praised the students for their creativity, discipline, and confidence, emphasizing that cultural programs like this play a vital role in students’ mental development and leadership growth.
Also present at the event were Assistant Principals Jessica Maldonado and Maria Panagiotakis, Parent Coordinator Zoraya Torres, and PA President Giselle Mendoza. The names of NYC Department of Education Chancellor Melissa Aviles-Ramos, District 28 Superintendent Dr. Eric Blake, and Deputy Superintendent Dr. Shonelle Hall were respectfully acknowledged, highlighting the significance of the occasion.
Through music and movement, the students brought the joy of the winter season and holiday spirit to life. Notable performances included a lively Holiday Mashup, an energetic presentation by the Cheer Team, and group performances by students from Grades 3 through 5.
Third-grade students especially captivated the audience with songs such as “Making Christmas,” “Do You Wanna Build a Snowman,” “Puppy for Hanukkah,” “Red Christmas,” “Last Christmas,” and “Underneath the Tree.” Performances by the fourth- and fifth-grade students were equally impressive and well received.
The concert concluded with a heartfelt finale, as all students came together to perform “Golden,” filling the auditorium with emotion and festive cheer. At the end of the program, parents expressed their appreciation for the students’ outstanding performances and thanked the school administration and teachers for organizing such a successful and memorable event.
