Assemblymember Steven Raga Opens New District Office: A Strong Commitment to Queens’ Diverse Communities—With Dedicated Support for Bangladeshi Residents

Progga News Desk:
New York State Assemblymember Steven Raga — the first Filipino American ever elected to the State Legislature — has officially opened his brand-new district office in Woodside on Friday, October 17, 2025. Over a hundred residents from Woodside, Maspeth, Jackson Heights, and Elmhurst joined the festive unveiling event, celebrating a new chapter of community-centered service and accessibility.

Raga highlighted that the office will play a vital role in strengthening relationships with the Bangladeshi community in Queens. From immigrant services to small business support, he reassured that Bangladeshi residents, students, workers, and families will have direct access to the resources they need through this new hub.

The Queens Chamber of Commerce welcomed and applauded the initiative, noting that the office will contribute significantly to economic and community development, particularly for local small businesses.

The grand opening also marks a meaningful start to Filipino American History Month, adding special significance to the milestone. Community members — including many Bangladeshi leaders — expressed their optimism that Assemblymember Raga’s leadership will continue to open new doors of opportunity for all immigrant communities across Queens.
