South Asian and Bangladeshi Communities Rally in Support of Andrew Cuomo for New York City Mayor — “Vote for Andrew Cuomo” Slogans Fill the Air

On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 4:00 PM, the area outside the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center in New York turned festive and energized during the Mayoral Debate Street Visibility Rally for Cuomo for Mayor. The event saw a strong turnout from members of the South Asian and Bangladeshi communities, who passionately voiced their support for Andrew Cuomo with the resounding chant — “Vote for Andrew Cuomo!”


Leading the campaign efforts from the Bangladeshi community were Democratic District Leader Dr. Dilip Nath, Community Board Member Fahad Solaiman, Haris Patel, Attorney Nasreen Ahmed, popular Bangladeshi singer Rizia Parveen, and community leaders Nuruzzaman Sarder, Zakir Hossain Bacchu, Foysal Aziz, Amzad Hossain Selim, Bidyut Sarkar, Sanjeevan Kumar, and Md. Parvez.


Leaders and supporters from the Gujarati and Spanish communities also joined in solidarity.
Dr. Dilip Nath said,“If Andrew Cuomo becomes Mayor, we will build a civilized, safe, and prosperous New York. His experience and leadership will give this city the direction it needs.”Community Board Member Fahad Solaiman noted, “New York City is currently facing challenges in public safety, education, housing, and mental health. Andrew Cuomo has pledged to restore order, modernize the education system, and make it more effective.”


He added,“Cuomo has promised to restore mayoral control over public schools, expand the ‘Gifted & Talented’ program for high-achieving students, and double the number of specialized high schools.”Attorney Nasreen Ahmed said,“For economic stability and law and order, there is no alternative to strong leadership — and Andrew Cuomo is that leader. We must all unite and vote for him.”Community leader Nuruzzaman Sarder emphasized,“Once elected, Andrew Cuomo will ensure greater participation of all immigrant communities, including South Asians. Bangladeshi Americans will also have the opportunity to serve in important positions.”


Uttom Kumer Shaha , CEO of Progga Foundation, said,“The future of New York depends on our collective decision. Together, we want to build a new, stronger, and more prosperous New York. To achieve that goal, we must elect our preferred candidate, Andrew Cuomo.”He added,“Now is the time to make our voices heard. United, we will determine the future of New York City. So we urge everyone — Vote for Andrew Cuomo!”
