The upcoming event is expected to bring together members, community leaders, supporters, and representatives of the Bengali Christian community from across the New York metropolitan area to celebrate the democratic process and reaffirm their commitment to unity, cooperation, and organizational development.
The ceremony will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Queen of Angels Church Auditorium, located at 44-04 Skillman Avenue, Sunnyside, NY 11104.

The election, held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, drew participation from Bengali Christian community members residing in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. The Bikash Panel achieved a commanding victory, winning 11 of the 13 positions on the Executive Committee and securing a clear majority in the organization’s leadership.
Joseph Bikash D’Costa was elected President, while Chitra Rozario was elected General Secretary. Their election victory has been viewed by members and community observers as a significant milestone in strengthening the association’s unity, democratic traditions, and organizational progress.
The other elected members of the Bikash Panel are Julian Malcolm Mendez, Vice President; Roseline Botlero, Assistant General Secretary; Richard A. Gomes, Treasurer; Brian Gomes, Assistant Treasurer; Chandra Corraya, Organizing Secretary; Sony C. Pereira, Joint Cultural Secretary; Lawrance D’Costa, Joint Sports and Youth Secretary; James T. Baroi, Joint Sports and Youth Secretary; and James Gomes Adi, Executive Committee Member.
The Patrick–Samir–Philip Panel secured two positions. Urmi Rozario was elected Cultural Secretary, and Derick Gonsalves was elected Executive Committee Member.
Following their victory, President-elect Joseph Bikash D’Costa and General Secretary-elect Chitra Rozario expressed their sincere gratitude to the members for their trust, support, and votes.
They stated that the victory was made possible through the grace of God, the cooperation of members, and the collective support of the association’s community. They emphasized that the outcome should not be viewed as the victory of a single panel, but rather as a shared achievement of the entire organization.
The newly elected leaders pledged to strengthen the association in accordance with its constitution and to make it more dynamic, transparent, accountable, and inclusive. They also expressed their commitment to fulfilling their electoral promises, expanding community programs, promoting social and cultural activities, and serving the interests of all members.
They further emphasized that although elections are an essential part of the democratic process, the true strength of an organization lies in unity, mutual respect, and collective participation.
The newly elected President and General Secretary called upon all members to put aside electoral differences and work together for the greater good of the association. They stressed that no member should be excluded and that the organization’s future development must be guided by cooperation and the active involvement of its entire membership.
