Grand Celebration Held in New York Marking BJP’s Victory in West Bengal: A Call for a Corruption-Free Administration and Stronger Sanatani Unity to Build a New Bengal

Progga News Desk:
Under the slogan “The Dream of West Bengal Comes True,” a colorful victory celebration was held on Friday evening, May 8, 2026, at the Golden Years Senior Program auditorium in Floral Park, New York. The event, held at 258-20 Hillside Avenue, drew a large gathering of Indian-American and Bangladeshi-American members of the Sanatani community. The evening was filled with excitement, unity, and optimism surrounding the political changes taking place in West Bengal.

The program began with a warm welcome delivered by well-known community organizer Priyo Tosh Dey. BJP leader Biswajit Chakraborty delivered the keynote address, greeting attendees and stating that the people of West Bengal had struggled for years against corruption, political violence, administrative discrimination, and mismanagement. He alleged that during former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s administration, corruption, nepotism, and political influence had deeply affected various government institutions.

He further claimed that teacher recruitment scandals, coal and cattle smuggling allegations, misuse of public funds, and administrative failures had weakened public confidence in the government. Speakers at the event also alleged that members of the Hindu and Sanatani communities had faced attacks on religious sentiments, temple vandalism, obstacles in celebrating religious festivals, and political marginalization over the years.

In his speech, Biswajit Chakraborty stated that the rise of the BJP represented more than just a political shift; according to him, it symbolized the restoration of West Bengal’s cultural identity and heritage. He highlighted the contributions of Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee, the renowned educationist, thinker, and founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, the predecessor of today’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Speakers noted that during the partition of India in 1947, Dr. Mukherjee played a historic role in ensuring that Hindu-majority regions remained part of India, ultimately contributing to the formation of present-day West Bengal. They described him as one of the principal architects of modern West Bengal and a strong voice for the protection of Bengali Hindus during a turbulent political period.

The speakers also emphasized Dr. Mukherjee’s achievements in education and public service. He became the youngest Vice Chancellor of the University of Calcutta and later served as India’s first Minister for Industry and Supply in Jawaharlal Nehru’s cabinet. Due to ideological differences and his opposition to the Nehru-Liaquat Pact, he eventually resigned and founded the Bharatiya Jana Sangh in 1951, which later evolved into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

According to the speakers, Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee’s political philosophy was rooted in nationalism, preservation of cultural heritage, democratic values, and the protection of Sanatani identity. They said his contributions to safeguarding the cultural and geographical identity of West Bengal continue to inspire millions today.

The event speakers also described BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari’s victory as a new beginning for West Bengal. “This is not only a political victory; it is a victory for Bengal’s culture, security, democracy, and Sanatani consciousness,” several speakers stated. They called upon supporters to work together toward building a corruption-free, developed, and secure West Bengal under new leadership.

Among those who addressed the gathering were successful entrepreneur and public figure Ajoy Nayek, Deval Gupta, Kanchan Banerjee, representatives of Jai Siya Ram, devotees chanting “Har Har Mahadev,” Mahant Sri Maa Rajyalaxmi, Tristate RSS leader Satyabrata Mukherjee, Bangladeshi Sanatani leader Dr. Samir Sarkar, and Sitangsu Guha. The speakers stressed the importance of strengthening Sanatani unity in the diaspora and passing cultural and religious values to future generations.

At one stage of the event, Nripen recited verses from the Gita, adding a spiritual atmosphere to the celebration. Later, Indian Bengali singers Tapan Das and Samir Chatterjee entertained the audience with classic Bengali and Hindi songs, receiving enthusiastic appreciation from attendees.

A special introduction was also made for Uttom Kumar Shaha, Editor and Publisher of Progga News Papers. BJP leader Biswajit Chakraborty praised him for highlighting community, cultural, and diaspora-related news through Progga News and urged the community to support his work.

In response, Uttom Kumar Shaha expressed heartfelt gratitude to the attendees and said, “Progga News always strives to be the voice of truth, society, and the immigrant community.” He encouraged everyone to read Progga News.us, collect the monthly print edition, watch the Progga News YouTube channel, and contribute articles, advertisements, and community support. He also shared contact information for collaboration through email at Uttomshaha84@gmail.com and via WhatsApp at 1-917-302-5051. He expressed special thanks and appreciation to Biswajit Chakraborty for his encouragement and support.

The evening concluded with the serving of delicious food and sweets for all guests. The program continued until 11 p.m. and ended with organizer and BJP leader Biswajit Chakraborty thanking everyone for attending, urging Sanatanis to remain united, and expressing hope for even larger community events in the future.
