20th Annual Iftar Dinner of Jackson Heights Bangladeshi Business Association Held in New York

The Jackson Heights Bangladeshi Business Association of New York (JBBA) hosted its 20th Annual Iftar Dinner in Jackson Heights, New York, on Thursday, March 12, 2026. The event took place from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Shanai Restaurant & Party Hall and was co-sponsored by New York City Comptroller Mark Levine.
The program was presided over by JBBA Chairman Shah M. Nawaz, while Member Secretary Fahad Solaiman served as the moderator and coordinator of the event. The chief guest was Mark Levine. Special guests included U.S. Congresswoman Grace Meng, New York State Assemblyman and State Senate candidate Steven Raga, and New York City Council Member Shekar Krishnan.
Among those present from the organization were Member Secretary Gias Ahmed, Convener Abul Fazal Dedarul Islam, Co-Conveners Molla M. A. Masud, Mohammad Hasan Jilani, Atiqul Islam Jakir, Engineer Hasan, and Abdul Alim. Moin Chowdhury attended the event as the Chief Advisor.
Co-Chairmen present included Piar Mohammad, Asef Bari Tutul, Harun Bhuiyan, Selim Harun, Rashed Ahmed, Hossain Rana, and Abu Noman Shakil. The event’s Chief Coordinators were Tarek Hasan Khan, Mansur Khan, Zed Alam Nomi, Biplob Saha, Mahmud Hossain Badsha, and Majeda Uddin.
Serving as Principal Event Coordinators were Kamruzzaman Kamrul, Babu Khan, Z. R. Chowdhury Letu, Mofizur Rahman, Masud Rana Tapon, Fahmed Rocky, and Faisal Aziz. Event coordinators included S. Q. Alam, Dr. Barnali Hasan, Aftab Jony, Sheikh Sayem, Shah Chishti, Mohsin Noni, Mrs. Mannan, Amin Mac, and Mohammad M. Abed.
Speakers at the program highlighted the significance of the holy month of Ramadan, emphasizing that fasting encourages self-discipline, spiritual reflection, and compassion for others. They also called on the community to work together for the greater good and stressed the importance of unity, harmony, and cooperation within the community.
At the conclusion of the program, JBBA General Secretary Fahad Solaiman expressed sincere gratitude to all distinguished guests, community leaders, and participants for attending the event. He noted that gatherings like this Iftar dinner strengthen friendship, solidarity, and brotherhood within the community.
