BROOKLYN, NY — Amid the joy of the autumn festival, the emotional farewell to Goddess Durga, and a spirit of unity and harmony, Jalsa Restaurant in Brooklyn celebrated Durga Puja 2026 with a series of religious and cultural events. On the occasion of Maha Dashami, Nowshin Ali , director of Jalsa Restaurant and chief organizer of the celebration, extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to Hindu communities around the world.

Nowshin Ali expressed his sincere gratitude to everyone who participated in the festivities, supported the Puja arrangements, and contributed to making this year’s celebration a success. He also shared his hope that next year’s Durga Puja would be even larger, more vibrant, and more memorable, with the continued support and participation of the community.

The formal observances of this year’s festival concluded on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, with Maha Dashami, marking the ceremonial farewell to Goddess Durga. In a special message through Progga News, Nowshin Ali conveyed his warm wishes to Hindus worldwide, emphasizing that the dedication, cooperation, and enthusiastic participation of the community had made the celebration particularly joyful and meaningful.

Nowshin Ali noted that organizing religious festivals in the United States provides an important opportunity for the South Asian diaspora to preserve its religious traditions, cultural heritage, and values while passing them on to younger generations. He credited the collective efforts of volunteers, participants, and supporters for the successful celebration and expressed his desire to organize an even more elaborate festival next year.

He also acknowledged the contributions of Rajesh Gupta, Anurag, and Shrivastava, who were involved in the festival’s organization and management. Nowshin Ali emphasized that the commitment, hard work, and cooperation of everyone involved are essential to the success of community celebrations. He added that the continued love and support of the community would remain a major source of inspiration for future events.

In addition to religious observances, Jalsa Restaurant hosted cultural programs and festive gatherings throughout the celebration. A Dandiya dance evening was held on October 17, followed by a cultural evening on October 18. The events offered members of the community opportunities to enjoy music, dance, and cultural performances in a festive atmosphere.

The Dandiya program, featuring dancing to live music, along with buffet dining and other cultural presentations, added to the celebration’s appeal and provided an opportunity for community members to come together and enjoy the festivities.

Located at 786 Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn, Jalsa Restaurant’s Durga Puja celebration served as an occasion to honor Indian cultural traditions and Hindu heritage while strengthening fellowship, mutual understanding, and harmony among community members.

In his Maha Dashami message, Nowshin Ali  once again thanked everyone who helped make the celebration successful. He expressed his hope that the collective enthusiasm and generosity demonstrated this year would lay the foundation for an even more ambitious celebration in the years ahead.

On behalf of Jalsa Restaurant and the Jalsa Puja organizers,  Nowshin Ali extended his heartfelt Maha Dashami greetings and best wishes to Hindus around the world, wishing everyone peace, happiness, prosperity, and well-being.
